New Delhi : India have been grouped with formidable clubs, Barcelona, PSV Eidenhoven and Flamengo, in the under-19 Champions Youth Cup football tournament in Malaysia from August 2-17.
The 16-team tournament has four Asian teams — Qatar, China, hosts Malaysia besides India — fighting it out for ttle alongside defending champions Manchester United, Juventus and Bayern Munich, among others.
India are in Group A and will play in Kuantan, while Ajax Amesterdam, Chelsea, AC Milan and Malaysia, who are in Group B will be based in Penang.
Olympic Lyon, Bayern Munich, River Plate and Qatar are in Group C and play at Malacca and Manchester United, Porto, Juventus and China in Group D at Kuala Terengganu.
The semi-finals and final will be played in Kuala Lumpur.
Groupings:
Group A: PSV Eindhoven, Barcelona, Flamengo, India.
Group B: Ajax Amesterdam, Chelsea, AC Milan, Malaysia.
Group C: Olympic Lyon, Bayern Munich, River Plate, Qatar.
Group D: Porto, Manchester United, Juventus, China.
