Questioned by Australian ABC radio network, Reform Unity Director John Tuhaika said he has toured the country to brief the people about the new system to secure its understanding and feedback.

Tuhaika added that the current government led by Prime Minister Derek Sikua is planning to use radio and TV to raise people awareness about the issue.

“This is an important step, as people awareness programs in the media will be oriented to educate the public about the reform project’s real purposes and objectives,” said Tuhaika.

Under the Constitution, Executive power is represented by Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, who delegates her duties as a head of State to a general governor, appointed by Parliament and aided by a Cabinet.

The 50-member Legislature also elects the prime minister.
