Turkish jets hit PKK targets in northern Iraq

Ankara, Turkey : Iraqi Kurdish officials say Turkish Jets have struck Kurdish rebel positions close to the border in northern Iraq.

The Web site of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan says Turkish warplanes bombed several border areas near the towns Neroye, Rekan and Dahuk in northern Iraq on Sunday night.

There was no immediate confirmation from the Turkish military, the Associated Press reported.
The site said Turkish jets also bombed mountainous areas near Zakho earlier on Sunday.
