“These parties still keep on its role in arming and training a Palestinian group against another group,” said Hamas’ spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri.

Hamas added the Quartet of Middle East players, represented in the Palestinian territories by former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, was one of those parties.

Abu Zuhri’s statements come in response to Blair who said that new Palestinian forces will be deployed in West Bank after receiving training in Jordan.

He added that these troops will be able to resist Hamas better than the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) forces which could not prevent Hamas from taking over Gaza Strip last June.” These statements prove that the creation and the armament of the security forces are done to face the resistance groups, mainly Hamas,” Abu Zuhri said. “Israel and the PNA’s crackdown on the resistance will not succeed.”

Hamas routed forces of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and seized power in Gaza Strip after fierce fighting in last June. Inreturn, pro-Abbas forces boost its presence in West Bank to prevent Hamas from trying to take it over.
