History should be maintained objectively: Maulana Jalaluddin Umri

New Delhi: “The aim of history is to objectively study our past, it is a record of the past and the nations, so record should be maintained in absolute correct form,” said Maulana Jalaluddin Umri, chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH).

While delivering his speech at the seminar ‘Critical Evaluation of History Text Books’ in the capital, Maulana Umri articulated that the concept of one God (monotheism) and equality are two major contributions which Muslims have given to the country.

Maulana Ejaz Ahmed Aslam, Public Relation Secretary of JIH said, “History is the memory of mankind and it is our responsibility to state it accurately without fear and favour. “History should be studied objectively and our approach should be realistic,” he added. He pointed out that nations always used to rewrite the history according to their point of view, he asserted, it is not a correct method’.

Organiser of the seminar, Mohammed Ashfaq, Education Secretary of JIH, presented the Islamic objective of education.
