Ajmer: In the wake of the Jaipur serial blasts that claimed 64 lives, the authorities have decided to tighten security in and around the dargah (shrine) of sufi saint Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti in Ajmer.
Nazim (manager) of the Dargah Committee Ahmad Raza said on 16th May that a delegation will meet the chief secretary of the state and request him to hand over the charge of security of the dargah to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
The Dargah Committee has also decided to request the district administration to remove 175 shops built illegally in the vicinity of the dargah. Meanwhile, the district administration has installed some close circuit televisions inside the dargah and deputed 100 police officials in plain uniform.
Incharge of the dargah security Dy SP Suresh Kumar informed that 6 out of 10 entrances of the dargah have been closed and metal detectors have been installed at four opened entrances.
