Abu Dhabi : President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan met here Sunday with Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdul Rahman Al Attiya over the upcoming summit of the bloc, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
During the meeting, Attiya briefed Sheikh Khalifa on the preparations for the 10th consultative summit of the GCC Heads of States that will be held on Tuesday in Damam, Saudi Arabia, according to the report.
Attiya said that the summit will follow up the implementation of the decisions made earlier by the Council, reviewing the achievement in enhancing the joint march in the best interest of the people.
Sheikh Khalifa said he is confident that the meeting will reinforce inter-GCC cooperation.
Recent developments in the regional and international arena will be high on the agenda of the upcoming summit, WAM said.
A host of other issues related to inter-GCC cooperation will also be discussed, it added.
Established in 1981, GCC is a regional political and economic bloc that consists of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
