Earlier Monday HH the Amir received HH the Prime Minister at Al-Saif Palace to mull the fate of the latter’s cabinet following the just-ended National Assembly elections.

“With God’s help and in the light of your enlightened attitudes the cabinet has discharged its duties in a sincere way, spared no effort to serve the interests of the homeland and made all possible achievements within its powers.

“We have doubled our efforts to honor the solemn pledge we made to Your Highness and to the honest people of Kuwait.

“However, unbecoming incidents featuring transgressions on the stable constitutional boundaries between the state authorities kept following each other till the issuance of the Amir Decree No 82 for 2008 on the dissolution of the National Assembly.

“The decree included a call for electing a new National Assembly on May 17, 2008.

“As the final results of the 12 National Assembly elections have been made public, I kindly tender to Your Highness my resignation and those of my fellow ministers in line with Article 57 of the Constitution of the State.

“I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to my fellow ministers for their sincere efforts that showed a high sense of responsibility.

“May God help the wise leadership of Your Highness to be all to the good and prosperity of our dear Kuwait.

“Thank your very munch.” Approving the resignation, HH the Amir voiced appreciation and gratitude to HH the Prime Minister and the cabinet minister for the selfless efforts they have made to serve the homeland.
