London : England coach Fabio Capello will have to juggle his squad for next week’s friendlies against the US and Trinidad and Tobago.
A virus is set to keep Newcastle United striker Michael Owen out of both games while Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas has returned home because of an ankle injury.
Owen was a contender for a starting place against the US Wednesday in London, despite being left on the bench by Capello since he took over the job just after Christmas.
Reports from Friday suggested that Capello is also likely to give the nine England players from Manchester United and Chelsea time off after the US game and not play them in Port of Spain against Trinidad and Tobago on June 1.
The efforts of the Champions League final mean they are struggling with fatigue and Capello is set to let them off the trip to Port of Spain on June 1.
