Kabul : Four foreign soldiers and three civilians were injured in a suicide attack on a foreign forces convoy in eastern Afghanistan on Saturday.
NATO officials in Kabul confirmed the attack on the convoy in the city of Jalalabad, Nangarhar province, and said some soldiers were injured. The blast was also confirmed by Afghanistan’s Interior Ministry spokesman Zmaray Bashari but he would not give details about the casualties.
However, Governor of the provine Gul Agha Sherzai said one foreign soldier was killed and four more were wounded in the balst. He said three civilians were also injured in the bomb attack.
NATO officials said it was not clear if the blast was a suicide attack or caused by a roadside landmine. Jalalabad is located some 150 kilometres east of Kabul, the central capital of Afghanistan. The city is one of the more developed and peaceful cities in Afghanistan after Kabul. It borders Peshawar city of Pakistan on its western border.
