Islamabad : At least three people were killed and 45 injured in a bomb blast in northwest Pakistan’s Bajaur tribal district Thursday, a TV channel reported.
A remote-controlled bomb was detonated when a jirga or tribal elders’ meeting was being held in Salarzai area of the tribal agency, Geo TV said.
The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The Pakistani army has intensified its operation against militants in the Bajaur agency and killed more than 1,500 militants since Aug 6.
