Sharqi along with local leaders of SIO visited riot-affected areas of the state. The delegation met with the victims in relief camps at Serpur, Basimari, Botamari and Burigoun. A detailed meeting was also held with the local organization leaders.

People are not satisfied with food being supplied in the relief camps. They need to return to their agricultural fields and back to their normal life. Government should send back the riot victims to their homes with full security, demanded SIO.

Government must provide baby food for the nourishment of children of riot victims as mothers and children are facing the worst humanitarian crisis, the organization said in a statement.

“It is condemnable that the local MLAs have not yet visited the riot-affected areas in many places. The Chief Minister himself must visit the relief camps and build confidence in victims as soon as possible,” SIO media secretary said.

The other demands of the organization include special package for riot-affected school students, rescheduling of examinations of 10th standard students and special coaching classes for HSLC students.
