Washington : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh arrived here Friday to take part in a summit of the world’s 20 biggest economies to consider ways of checking the global financial crisis and prevent a future one.
Finance Minister P. Chidambaram is accompanying the prime minister for the two-day summit of Group of Twenty (G20) advanced and emerging economies hosted US by President George W. Bush.
Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Department of Economic Affairs Secretary Ashok Chawla have been here since Wednesday preparing the groundwork for the summit.
