Lucknow : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati of hurting farmers’ interests.
“The BSP government is not working in the interest of the farmers as it has joined hands with middlemen to pocket profit,” senior BJP leader Om Prakash Singh told a press conference here Thursday.
Farmers across the state are not getting the minimum supporting price (MSP) for their produce, especially paddy, he added.
Singh announced that the BJP would take to the streets across the state against the “anti-farmer policies” of the Mayawati government.
