Kolkata : The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) Monday received a 15-year lease from the Indian Army for the Eden Gardens. The lease period ended June 15 last year.
“Yes, we have received the lease,” CAB president Jagmohan Dalmiya told IANS after receiving the documents from the army, which owns the land on which Eden stands.
The lease issue had become a subject matter of debate in the CAB, as the matter got prolonged with even state Sports Minister Subhas Chakraborty at one stage writing to the army not to renew the lease in favour of the association.
