Strong earthquake hits Russia’s far east

Washington : A powerful earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale struck Monday an area in the Sea of Okhotsk in Russia’s far east, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The earthquake occurred at 8:02 p.m. and its epicenter was located 314 km west of the Russian city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, the USGS said.
