Ranchi : A Jharkhand court Monday directed an anti-corruption agency to register a case against two ministers for allegedly amassing wealth beyond their known sources of income.
Judge A.K. Singh of the anti-corruption court directed the state vigilance department to lodge first information report (FIR) or police complaint against Rural Development Minister Enos Ekka and Urban Development Minister Harinarayan Rai for acquiring assets disproportionate to their income.
Both are independent legislators and have played crucial role in forming and toppling governments in the state since 2005.
Vinod Kumar, a resident of Deoghar district, had filed a petition alleging that the ministers had amassed wealth more than their income after they became legislators and ministers.
