Since morning the Muslim-dominated Jamia Nagar which has about 70% of voters of the Okhla constituency witnessed large queues at polling booths. Enthusiasm of the people could be seen there when men, women and youth, both from rich and poor classes, were standing to cast their votes.

The winner will be declared on December 8 when the votes will be counted. But after visiting several polling booths in the area and talking to people it seemed that many people have inclination towards Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Asif Mohd Khan. Some were also talking about Samajwadi Party’s Waseem Ahmed Ghazi and also Bahujan Samaj Party’s Brahman Singh.

There were no reports of any untoward incident while heavy deployment of police personnel was seen in Shaheen Bagh area.
