Addressing the Fourth Summit of science ministers of Muslim countries in Baku Monday, he further said that Iran has several proposals for upgrading cooperation among Muslim countries.

He also proposed designation of the next Hejira year as ‘Year of Innovation and Creativity’ and holding scientific and students olympiads involving Islamic states.

The proposals will help identify talented youth in the Muslim world, he noted, adding that Organization of Islamic Conference and Islamic Development Bank can devise a suitable schedule for directing them, Zahedi said.

Unfortunately, the westerners identify talented youth and take them away, he complained, stressing the need to adopt measures to tackle the problem.

Creating a scientific network of Muslim elites is another proposal of Iran, Zahedi said, adding that incentives such as increasing sabbatical terms for the scholars can also increase exchange of views among the countries.

Publishing specialized magazines in each discipline will contribute to scientific development of countries, he said.
