The spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Hasan Qashqawi added in his weekly press briefing that he expected Pakistan would put all its efforts to release the hostages, saying that such action would help in fighting terrorism and boost stability in the two countries and the region as a whole.

He expressed hopes that the bids by Tehran and Islamabad on that issue would lead to release of the hostages soon.

Commander of Iranian Police Forces Ismael Ahmadi announced yesterday that a number of Iranian hostages were killed by their kidnappers.

An anti-Iranian group called, “The soldiers of Allah,” has kidnapped 16 members of the Iranian police in the governorates of Sistan and Baluchesta, and transferred them to the Pakistani territories, threatening to kill them in case their demands were not answered.

Qashqawi has expressed his sorrow for seizure of an Iranian boat off the Somali shores a month ago, saying that his country was following up this case seriously and contacting and negotiating some countries in to release the ship and its crew.
