New Delhi : A 19-year-old has been arrested for allegedly raping his 11-year-old neighbour in her southeast Delhi home, the city police said Thursday.
The police said father of the girl caught Amar Pal red handed and thrashed him black and blue before handing him over to the police late Wednesday.
The girl was taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) where doctors confirmed that she was sexually assaulted.
“The victim told us that she was sleeping in the house with her sister when Amar Pal entered her house. He took her into another room and raped her while one of his friends stood guard outside the house,” a police official said.
“The girl’s father, who had returned from his grocery shop nearby, heard her cries and went to check on her. He found Amar Pal in objectionable position,” the official added.
The victim’s father caught Amar Pal and informed his neighbours.
“We have arrested the accused,” police said.
