Tehran : Arab League Secretary General Amr Mussa advised Arab countries Saturday in a TV interview never to consider Iran as an enemy, but rather regard it as a good neighbor and a brother country in the region.
Mussa added in his interview with the Arabic channel of Al-Jazeera satellite TV, “There are of course certain differences of opinion between Iran and some Arab countries, despite which we need to maintain dialogue with Iran.”
He emphasized, “We are obliged to keep negotiating with Iran as a responsibility, and Iran, too, is mutually responsible to maintain constructive dialogue with us.”
Referring to the existing issues between Iran and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), he reiterated, “There are various ways for tackling the major regional problems, but the current regional conditions dictate the need to negotiate with Iran.”
Amr Mussa emphasized, “It is necessary to pave the path for a strategic, serious, and urgent Arabic-Iranian negotiations to eliminate the chance for the probable antagonist encounter that many forces try to flicker its flames.”
The Arab League Secretary General stressed, “We should not take sides with any country, side, or force that is trying to resort to military attacks against any regional country, including Iran.” He further emphasized, “Anyone that favors launching a war against Iran is insane.”
Criticizing the warmongers, the AL Secretary General asked them, After what happened in Iraq, is there any doubt that the region is in need of no more wars?”
