Tashkent : India Davis Cupper Rohan Bopanna will pair up with seven Grand Slam titles winner Max Mirnyi of Belarus at the St. Petersburg Open next week.
Though Bopanna says there is no commitment for a long-time partnership with Mirnyi, a former partner of Mahesh Bhupathi, he added that if they combine well in St. Petersburg, they can think of a future arrangement.
“I called up Max after he broke up with Jim Murray and he immediately agreed to play with me,” said Bopanna who is currently playing at Tashkent Open Challenger.
“I’m looking forward to playing with Max, it will be a great experience for me to play with someone like him.”
Bopanna, however, said his partnership with Pakistan’s Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi would continue and they will be playing at the German and Slovak challengers in coming weeks.
“Knowing each other for so long and our off court relationship has helped Aisam and me to pull off some very good matches,” Bopanna said.
