Kuwaiti FM arrives in UAE to take part in “Forum for the future 2008”

Abu Dhabi : Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah arrived in the United Arab Emirates’ capital, Abu Dhabi, Friday to take part in the fifth “Forum for the Future 2008,” to kick off on Saturday.

Sheikh Mohammad was accompanied in the same airplane by UAE’s Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development Abdulrahman Mohammad Al-Owais also arrived. Both came from Astana, Kazakhstan, where they attended the “Seventh Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Foreign Ministers Meeting.”

Attending the two-day forum will be senior government officials from Arab countries, the Group of Eight industrialized nations (G8) – Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States – as well representatives from 30 international organizations.

The forum will discuss a number of strategic political, economic, cultural and social issues, in addition to vital causes relevant to partnership, regional and international cooperation, development, reform, human security and world peace.

Preceding the forum will be a meeting by a number of the countries’ officials, with Kuwait represented by Head of the International Organizations’ Department at the foreign ministry Mansour Al-Otaibi and its Diplomatic Attache Abdulmohsin Al-Rifai.

The international forum follows a chain of meetings by the officials before the end of the year, the first of which was held in Dubai on June 9-10.
