Sri Lanka: 2 soldiers, 2 rebels killed in fighting

Colombo, Sri Lanka : Two soldiers and two Tamil Tiger rebels were killed in clashes in northern Sri Lanka and in a popular wildlife park in the southeast, the military said

Military spokesman Brig. Udaya Nanayakkara said troops recovered the bodies of two guerrillas after several clashes Friday near the Tamil Tigers’ de facto capital of
Kilinochchi in the north. One soldier was killed and four others were wounded in those clashes, he said.

Separately, one soldier died when army units attacked a group of rebels inside the Yala wildlife park in the island’s southeast, Nanayakkara was quoted as saying by Associated Press.
