The Manch is an Indore-based Hindu extremist organization which is also supposed to be connected to the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of BJP.

At present the police is questioning the main suspects, according to a report of the English daily Indian Express.

The near simultaneous blasts which rocked Malegaon and Modasa in the Sabarkantha district of Gujarat in the month of Ramzan killed five Muslims in Malegaon and one Muslim boy in Modasa.

The investigators found that the blasts were carried out in a particular manner to mislead them and point towards the involvement of SIMI or any other supposedly Muslim group.

For instance, the motorcycle which was used in the Malegaon blast was parked near the office of SIMI whereas there were Islamic stickers on the seat of the motorcycle used in Modasa, and also the fact these blasts occurred in the aftermath of many blasts in Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Delhi.

So being misled by these indications the investigative agencies suspected the involvement of groups like SIMI or the Indian Mujahideen.

The important turn in the investigation came when the origin of the two-wheeler used in Malegaon was traced to a man with ABVP background.

Although the top officers of Maharashtra police confirmed about this recent development but because of the sensitive nature of the case they preferred not to go on record.
