Bhubaneswar : At least seven people went missing after a boat carrying them capsized in a reservoir in Orissa, the police said Saturday.
The boat capsized Friday afternoon in Chitrakonda reservoir in the state’s Malkangiri district, some 700 km from here.
The villagers were returning to their village, Singaram, after visiting a village located on the other side of the reservoir.
“Five men and two women were feared drowned,” district Superintendent of Police Satish Kumar Gajbhiye told IANS.
“A rescue team has reached the spot and launched a search operation,” he said.
