New Delhi : India captain Anil Kumble does not duck or mince his words when his captaincy or his bowling are discussed in the media.
Ever since his team’s loss in the series in Sri Lanka, he has been answering questions about his future in the game and that of his senior colleagues.
On the eve of the third Test against Australia here at the Ferozeshsh Kotla Tuesday, his captaincy, fitness and form came in for discussion at the media conference. He refused to take unsolicited advice from all and sundry, saying they are entitled to their opinions.
“People have their opinions and I respect them. But if you play according to people’s opinion then you go no where,” he said after the team’s practice session.
“I have faith in myself and the team has faith in me,” he said.
His comment was enough not to prolong the discussion on the subject.
