Chennai : Private sector lender Karur Vysya Bank Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs.927.7 million in the first half this fiscal as against Rs.913.6 million in the year-ago period, the bank announced here.
During the period, the bank has reported a total income of Rs.7.69 billion, up from Rs.5.95 billion in the corresponding period last fiscal.
The bank’s interest on advances grew 33.94 percent to Rs.5.29 billion in the first half of 2008-09 from Rs.3.95 billion, while the other income stood at Rs.840 million, up from Rs.657.6 million in the first six months of 2007-08.
During the period, the bank’s total business went up to Rs.230.22 billion from Rs.183.54 billion.
The bank plans to extend facilities like remittance of school/college fees and transfer of funds through automatic teller machines (ATM) shortly.
