Karachi : Pakistan pacer Sohail Tanvir said he is eagerly looking forward to the much-awaited home series against India and is hopeful of coming up with an impressive show.
Sohail, who was recently crowned as the best Twenty20 bowler at an awards ceremony in India, said that he wants to prove his skills in Tests and one-dayers too, and will like to do that in the series against India which include three Tests, five One-day Internationals and a Twenty20 International during Jan-Feb India tour next year.
“It will be a huge series,” said Sohail. “It will be a great platform for me to show the world that I can excel in one-day and Tests as well,” said Sohail, who was one of the key players in Rajasthan Royals’ win in Indian Premier League earlier (IPL) this year.
Sohail is also looking forward to giving some match-winning performances for his team in its One-day International series against the West Indies in Abu Dhabi next month.
“Presently, I’m focusing on the one-day series against the West Indies,” Sohail said here at the National Stadium where he is currently representing Federal Areas in a Pentangular Cup match against Sindh.
“My target is to give some match-winning performances with both the bat and ball for my team and win the man-of-the-series award in Abu Dhabi,” he added.
Pakistan is to play a three-match ODI series against the West Indies in Abu Dhabi from Nov 12-16. Sohail, who has transformed himself as a key figure in the national team, is certain to be selected in the 15-man squad for the Abu Dhabi assignment. Pakistan will name their squad Nov 3.
