New Delhi: The Congress has not been fair in countering terrorism because a considerable portion of the Congress members are communal minded, said Maulana Abdul Hameed Nomani, general secretary of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind.

Talking to TwoCircles.net Maulana Nomani said the government has had reservation and soft corner for Hindu extremist organizations found involved in several bomb blasts in the country and have taken different approach when it came to Muslims.

Is the exposure of some Hindu terrorist outfits being involved in blasts in Malegaon and Modasa in this past Ramazan politically motivated? He said no but added that the government has not conducted fair probe in blasts earlier.

“BJP or Congress, both are under the grip of Brahmanism and a considerable part of the Congress has always been under the influence of communalism,” said Maulana Nomani.

“We have been demanding fair enquiry in bombings. In Nanded, Parbhani and Kanpur Bajrang Dal activists were killed while making bombs but no proper enquiry was conducted” he said.

He also criticized the BJP for getting angry on the use of term Hindu terrorism.

“When Hindu organizations are involved in such cases, they are called as individual organizations not as community, but in Muslims’ case, bombings are attached with the community and Islam,” he pointed out.

They are objecting on the use of the term Hindu terrorism, but they have been saying Islamic terrorism and Islamic terrorists even though they know that Islam and Muslim are two separate words, but the word Hindu is used for both religion an its followers and so there should not be any objection if terrorists involved in Modasa and Malegaon blasts are called Hindu terrorists, he added.
