The protest took place outside the BJP’s Delhi Pradesh office at Pandit Pant Marg over unconfirmed reports of selection of candidates for some assembly seats.

BJP is expected to release the list of its candidates Friday for the 70 member Delhi assembly election to be held Nov 29.

According to sources: “The party leadership has finalised the name of Yogesh Attre from Mangol Puri seat, Chand Ram from Bawana, Vijay Jolly from New Delhi, Nakul Bharadwaj from Patparganj area and Vani Tripathi from Vikas Puri area.”

The protestors were alleging that these candidates are outsiders and they should not be given a ticket to fight elections from these seats.

One such candidate whose supporters were protesting at the BJP office was Rohtash Valmiki, who is eyeing a ticket from Mangol Puri area.

“Attre should not be given a ticket from Mangol Puri seat. He is not a resident of Mangol Puri area and he doesn’t know anything about the issues pertaining to this area,” Valmiki said.
