New Delhi : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would Monday inaugurate the third annual Right to Information (RTI) convention organised by the Central Information Commission (CIC), a official said here Friday.
The main theme of the two-day convention will be “RTI and its Ramifications for Good Governance” and it will have seven technical sessions covering major aspects of governance.
The sessions would be chaired by former chief justice of the Supreme Court J.S. Verma, member of the planning commission B.N. Yugandhar, social activist Aruna Roy, chairman and managing director of NDTV Prannoy Roy, Chief Information Commissioner Wajahat Habibullah and Information Commissioner A.N. Tiwari.
“The third annual convention will have a distinction of being one of its kind where the assessment of the act both by the government and by the civil society would be discussed,” a CIC official said.
