“Sleep with your eyes open, because you must be aware of the Israeli threats,” Berri told tens of thousands who joined a rally on Sunday marking 30 years since Imam Moussa al-Sadr, founder of the Shiite Amal movement, disappeared in Libya.

Sunday’s rally was organized by the Shiite Amal movement which is now headed by Berri.

“All Israeli threats should be taken seriously, Israel and terrorism are two sides of the same coin”, and both want to destabilize Lebanon and destroy its economy, security system and public sectors.

Several Israeli officials recently vowed to destroy Lebanon’s infrastructure if the Shiite Hezbollah controls the Lebanese government.

On the latest incident during which a Hezbollah militant shot down an army helicopter, allegedly mistaking it for an Israeli one, Berri called for the formation of a joint coordination committee between the Lebanese army and the resistance (Hezbollah) to avoid “painful” incidents that again.

The army helicopter was shot Thursday by Hezbollah members in southern Lebanon, “due to lack of coordination” as it was explained. One air force officer was killed and seven crew members were wounded in the incident.
