Pakistan-Iran Bilateral Relations To Remain Intact

Tehran : Iran-Pakistan bilateral relations will not be affected by the latest developments in Pakistan. This was stated by outgoing Pakistani Ambassador to Tehran, Shafkat Saeed.

Ambassador Shafkat Saeed stated that the new Pakistani government intends to have strong political relations with the Islamic republic of Iran.

He also announced that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has been invited to visit Tehran, adding that the visit is expected to take place sometime in the next few months.

“The visit is a signal that the Pakistan People’s Party is interested in close ties with Iran,” he noted.

He also expressed hope that the deal on the Iran-Pakistan-India gas pipeline would be concluded during Prime Minister Gilani’s visit to Tehran.
