“A team comprising officials from the district administration and health department has been set up to probe the incident,” Lucknow chief medical officer A.K. Shukla told IANS.

“We have to complete the inquiry and submit the report to the state government within 15 days,” he added.

Though the condition of all the 25 girls is stable, they are still undergoing treatment at the Balrampur hospital here.

On Monday, 25 girls complained of severe stomach ache and started vomiting after eating a meal at the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Kakori locality on Lucknow’s outskirts.

According to officials, the girls had tea and mushy peas for breakfast.

Edibles in the kitchen of the residential school were sealed Monday to ascertain whether the case was of food poisoning or not, an official said.
