Dubai : India’s One-Day International (ODI) captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh were among the recipients of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Awards 2008 presented here Wednesday night.
While Dhoni was named the ODI Player of the Year, Yuvraj won the award for the Twenty20 International Performance of the Year for hitting six sixes in one over against England during the ICC World Twenty20 Championship in South Africa last year.
Dhoni, along with Sachin Tendulkar, also figured among the members of ICC’s World ODI Team of the Year, with Australia’s Ricky Ponting as captain.
Virender Sehwag is part of the ICC World Test Team of the Year.
Both teams were chosen by a specially appointed independent selection panel chaired by West Indian batting legend Clive Lloyd.
