Lucknow : Three people were arrested with 50 tonnes of explosives in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh district, the police said Thursday.
“Preliminary investigations reveal that the explosive material, mainly gunpowder, was meant for manufacturing crude bombs,” Babu Lal Bharti, a police official, told IANS.
The stock of explosives was seized late Wednesday night from hideouts of Roshan, Manju Ali and Mohammad Tasleem in Sarsaul and Atrauli localities of Aligarh, about 250 km from here.
The three were involved in making crude bombs for the last five years, the police said.
