It is the second US drone strike in North Waziristan tribal area in three days.

US drone fired volley of missiles at a religious seminary of girls students in North Waziristan on September 9, killing some 20 people, most women and children.

In fresh incident, a US drone fired missiles at a house of a local tribesman at Tul Khel area in Waziristan early Friday, witnesses said.

Tul Khel is located in mountain one kilometer from Miranshah, the center of North Waziristan.

They said that eight people were also injured, who were taken to main hospital in Miranshah.

American drone fired missiles in Pakistani area despite strong criticism at such attacks from Pakistan army chief General Pervaiz Ashfaq Kayani, who said that such attacks would prove counter productive.

Army spokesman Major General Athar Abbas said Thursday that Pakistan army has been given orders to hit back in case of US attacks.

Pakistani forces in the tribal region did not retaliate to the Friday’s attack despite flights by the US spy planes in the region.

Witnesses say that they heard noise of spy plane before the attack.

Locals said that the missile was fired at the house of a tribesman identified as Shahdam at 5:30 a.m.

In another tribal region of Bajaur, the security forces used artillery to bomb positions of local Taliban militants in different areas.

Official sources said that at least 20 militants were killed in the fresh attacks on Friday.

The forces continued shelling despite the government announcement to halt operation in respect of the holy month of Ramazan.

Residents said militants cordoned off the Friday bombed site.

Local tribesmen were allowed to pull the bodies and injured out of the rubles.
