“The SP would not have any tie-up with the Congress in Madhya Pradesh but would join hands with like-minded regional parties like Rashtriya Samanata Dal and Gondwana Mukti Sena.

“I am going to submit a list of party candidates for 230 assembly constituencies to the party’s central leadership September 19,” said Narayan Tripathy, the party’s state unit president, here Friday.

Tripathy told reporters the party’s election campaign would start Sept 15 from Shahdol where ‘Kisan-Adivasi Mahasammelan’ will be addressed by party general secretary Amar Singh. He would also address election rallies in Rewa Sep 26, Chhindwara Oct 14, Katni Oct 20 and finally at Bhopal Oct 30.

He said the Samajwadi Party would bring the failures and corruption of the state Bharatiya Janata Party government before the people and tell them how this government has cheated them by making false promises in the run-up to the last assembly polls.

“Things have reached such a pass that the government is now trying to suppress even the fourth estate to cover up its failure,” he said, adding that his party would play a decisive role in the state polls.
