“The Sep 13 bomb blasts in Delhi were a government-assisted act of terrorism. It could not have succeeded if the Delhi and central governments had taken lessons from the October 2005 blasts and heeded the Gujarat chief minister’s repeated warnings about an imminent terror strike,” said Delhi BJP chief Harshvardhan in a press statement, announcing the rally.

Modi, whom the party has put forward to articulate its stand on terrorism, will visit the blast site at Karol Bagh before addressing the rally at the Ajmal Khan Park in the same area. This would be his first major rally in the national capital.

Harshvardhan said the party would launch a full-fledged campaign in the capital against the Congress government of Delhi and the Congress-led central government on their policy on terrorism.

He said: “We don’t want to politicize the tragedy. But we are forced to admit with a heavy heart that this government’s failure has become comprehensively exposed. No wonder the terrorists are finding Delhi to be a happy hunting ground”.
