Kuala Lumpur : A total of 750 one-to-one business meetings are expected to be arranged during the Indian Engineering Exhibition (INDEE 2008) to be held here from Sept 25 to 27, says its organizer.
The business-to-business matching programme is aimed at providing an opportunity for engineering companies of both countries to forge strategic alliances for growth and joint ventures in Malaysia as well as the Association of South East Asian Nations (Asean) region, says the Engineering Export Promotion Council of India (EEPC).
“We are confident that our partnership with various Malaysian partner organizations for INDEE 2008 will enable our members to take advantage of business opportunities in Malaysia,” the EEPC said in a statement here Tuesday.
The three-day exhibition will see more than 150 Indian companies at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) here with an eye on establishing collaboration with potential local partners to make Malaysia the hub for penetrating the regional market, the statement added.
Malaysia is the biggest market in Asean for Indian engineering companies, accounting for 19.04 per cent of the overall export of engineering products from India to Asean, the EEPC said.
“In 2007/2008, India’s export of engineering products to Malaysia grew by 106.74 per cent to 747.64 million USD from 361.63 million USD in 2006/2007,” it said.
