League Secretary-General Amr Moussa told the press Wednesday “spilling blood and killing innocent civilians is not going to yield any good results,” affirming that he was strongly against such acts.

Moussa expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the victims.

He has contacted Yemeni Foreign Minister Dr Abu Baker Al-Qurba for an update on the incident.

This is not the first time that US interests in Yemen have been targeted by terrorism. On Oct 12, 2000, a suicide bombing attack against US Navy guided missile destroyer USS Cole (DDG 67) occurred while it was harboured in the Yemeni port of Aden. Seventeen sailors were killed.
