Lebanon, Syria to exchange ambassadors by year-end – Lebanese President

Beirut : Lebanon and Syria will exchange ambassadors by the year-end, President Michel Sueliman said.

Suleiman was speaking to a delegation of the Lebanese-French Friendship Committee of the French Senate that he received at the presidential palace Wednesday.

“The relationship with Syria has been placed on the right track,” he said.

Lebanese and Syrian officials have been discussing issues of common concern in a candid atmosphere on the basis of mutual confidence, the president added.

Suleiman agreed with his Syrian counterpart, Bashar Al-Assad, during a visit to Syria last August, on establishing diplomatic ties between the two countries.
