Beirut : One man was killed and four others were wounded when a bomb blew up Tuesday in Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp in south Lebanon, local Daily Star reported Wednesday.
A Palestinian named Munir Maqdah was quoted as saying that the bomb exploded near Al-Nour mosque in the camp, where there is an office belonging to the spokesman of the Islamic movement alliance Sheikh Jamal al-Khattab.
The alliance is a group of Islamist factions that work with Fatah movement of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in providing security in the camp, according to the report.
Eyewitnesses said that gunfire was heard after the bombing, as masked gunmen took to the streets blocking off access to the scene.
Last week, three people were killed in clashes inside the camp between Fatah Movement and Jund al-Sham, an Islamist group also a part of the Islamic movement alliance.
The camp, which is over crowded as it hosts over 45,000 residents, has become a refugee camp for many fundamentalist Islamic groups.
