ICC said it received a request from Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited chairman and ICL owner Subhash Chandra.

The meeting between Morgan and Chandra has been scheduled in London at a mutually convenient date.

“The ICL had previously written to the ICC requesting its approval and now it has asked for this meeting, to which we have agreed,” Morgan said in a statement.

“All members of the ICC Board have been informed of this meeting and I will report back to those directors at the Board’s next meeting, in Dubai Oct 14 and 15.”

The development will surely not go down well with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

BCCI has banned ICL and its players and has also forced other boards to follow suit. ICC has also branded ICL as “unauthorised league”. The Sri Lankan Cricket board recently lifted the ban on their ICL players for domestic competitions.
