New Delhi : T.M. Jacob, leader of the Kerala Congress-Jacob (KC-J) group, Friday called for the unity of all five Kerala Congress groups, saying they will be a force to reckon with if they came together.
“I am ready for any compromise for the unification of Kerala Congress groups. It will be a major force if its leaders unite,” Jacob told IANS here.
“Unification of the Kerala Congress is an urgent need of the hour,” he said.
Saying he would not claim the top posts if the Kerala Congress united, Jacob said: “If unification happens before the next general elections, the united Kerala Congress will win at least three Lok Sabha seats.”
The other Kerala Congress groups are KC-Mani, KC-Joseph, KC-Balakrishna Pillai and KC-Secular led by P.C. George. All Kerala Congress are known by the names of their leaders.
All the Kerala Congress factions barring the one led by P.J. Joseph are part of the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF). The KC-Joseph is with the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF).
