Playing two Twenty20 practice matches for the Queensland Bulls, Symonds faced a total of just nine deliveries in his two innings at Allan Border Field.

The 33-year-old was caught in the deep for two in the first match — and was dismissed for one in the second match when he skied a catch to the wicketkeeper.

It was hardly the outing that Symonds wanted as he tries to convince national selectors he is ready for a recall following his axing for disciplinary reasons in Darwin, the Courier Mail reports.

However, he fared better with his medium pace – sending down three consecutive maidens in the first match and finishing with the figures of 0-8 from four overs. He finished with 2-24 off three overs in the second match.

Bulls won the opening match but lost the second clash.
