AIMMM condoles the death of Salahuddin Owaisi

New Delhi: The All India Muslim Majlis-e Mushawarat (AIMMM) expressed grief and sadness at the sudden demise of the noted Indian Muslim leader Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi, the president of the All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimin (MIM).

AIMMM offered its heart-felt condolences to the nation, the Muslim community and to the immediate relatives of the departed leader for this irreplaceable loss to the nation and the community.

Dr Zafarul-Islam Khan, President of the AIMMM, the umbrella body of Indian Muslim organisations, said that Owaisi sahib played an active role on both national and regional levels for about four decades. He served as Member of Parliament from 1984 to 2004 during which he forcefully raised the issues of the Muslim community in the country in general and in Andhra Pradesh in particular.

He established many important educational and social institutions which will benefit and remind the coming generations of his dedication and selfless service to all. He will always be remembered for his services to raise and empower the Muslims of Hyderabad who were demoralised after the so-called police action and disempowerment. He has left behind most able sons who are serving the community at both national and regional levels.

Owaisi saheb’s long-time colleague and former head of AIMMM, Syed Shahabuddin, expressed his deep sorrow at the untimely death of the MIM leader.
