Indian Vice-Prez begins 3-day Kuwait visit on Monday

New Delhi : India’s Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari will begin a three-day visit to Kuwait Monday.

The vice president will be visiting the (P) Gulf nation at the invitation of the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah.

Minister of State for Statistics and Programme Implementation, G. K. Vasan and a number of other senior officials will be accompanying the Vice President.

This is the first high-level visit by an Indian leader after the visit of Emir of Kuwait to India in June 2006.

India and Kuwait enjoy traditionally close and friendly relations, based on historical linkages that have deepened and diversified over time.

Geographic proximity, cultural affinities and trade ties continue to sustain and nurture long-standing friendship between the two countries.

Entire gamut of bilateral relationships, regional and global issues, including security, energy and cooperation in the field of science and technology are likely to be discuss during the visit.
